LIBRARY FACILITY

The college has a rich library with good numbers of books in the stock and reading room facilities. The college has also subscribed for daily news paper and journals. The college has Internet and photocopy facilities for the students. The students of Honours courses are given special assistance by lending reference books in addition to the text and other books. We are also planning to have different Departmental Libraries and Central Internet facility very soon. College website provides Online Book Search and repository.

SPORTS & GAMES

The students of the college have been provided with the basic sports & games facilities. The students take part in the annual college sports meet and the successful students are provided with Certificate of Proficiency. The students with extraordinary capabilities are given due patronage from the college in order to come out successful in the bigger arena. The college participates in the Inter College Athletic, Football meet in the District level as well as in the State level. In addition to these there are Indoor game facilities like Carom, Chess, Table Tennis and Badminton. The outstanding sports persons are given privileges. Often inter class sports & games competitions are held. The College has its own sports stadium for football, cricket and athletics. College has installed Multi Gym also.

STUDENTS’ UNION

Like all colleges administered by the University Statutes, the college has a democratically elected Students' Union. The Union and the college administration are always in good terms for maintaining discipline in the college. Since the general atmosphere of the college is conducive to serious study, constructive suggestions and critical inputs are always welcome from the students' union. The spirit of cooperation has ensured a healthy academic atmosphere in the college. The students' union is the livewire of all the student activities like sports & games, cultural activities and meets. An important factor for the students' union is to enforce strict observance of the rules and regulations of the college.

STUDENTS' HEALTH HOME FACILITY

The students of the college can avail of the Students' Health Home Facilities by paying a nominal fee. Health Home provides better medical treatment to the bona-fide ailing students for a very nominal expense. If necessary, students may be sent to the Central Students' Health Home at Kolkata.

STUDENTS' ADMISSION RESERVATION

Reservation of seats for S.C., S.T. and O.B.C. and physically handicapped candidates is made according to Government Regulations. Candidates with outstanding records in sports and games may apply in plain paper for seeking admission in sports quota.

STUDENTS’ CONCESSIONS

Tuition Fee concession may be available by way of partial or full waiver of such to a few students coming from economically backward families subject to the approval of the college Governing Body.

COLLEGE CANTEEN

Facilities of a college canteen have been felt for a long time, but due to some unavoidable reasons we could not made it available. We are happy to announce that college canteen has started functioning.

NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME

The N.S.S. unit of the college organizes some benevolent programmes for the benefit of the society. It organizes camps to aware the people about the menace of HIV, AIDS etc. It also organizes literacy camps in the adopted villages and plantation is also under taken. These services are provided by three units where 100 numbers of students in each unit serve as volunteers.

STUDENT'S HOSTEL

The college has a student hostel where male students can stay. The students are looked after by a Hostel Super. The hostel provides food to the boarder against a nominal payment. Especially students of S.C., S.T. and O.B.C. community and students of financially backward class are given privilege. The female students of our college have been provided the facility of a separate hostel building with in the college premises.

COLLEGE MAGAZINE

The college publishes College Magazine ‘JYOTI’ to cultivate literary talent of the students of the college. Even the teachers and non-teaching members of the college also participate in the publication either directly or indirectly to enrich the publication.

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

To reward excellence and promote healthy practices, Annual Cultural Competitions are held in music, recitation, debate, essay writing and quiz in the college. Annual Social Function and Fresher Welcome are organized by the Students' Union. Musical soiree, dance drama and drama are also organized by the students of the college on the occasions of important social celebrations.

ACADEMIC SEMINAR & WORKSHOP

Distinguished scholars are invited by different departments of the college to deliver lectures or read out papers in Seminars. In addition to these departmental seminars, U.G.C. sponsored seminars are held in the college occasionally inviting eminent speakers and teachers of other colleges. Workshops are organized by the N.S.S. units of the college.

ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

An Alumni Association has been working with an intention to take the cooperation of the Alumni in various fields so that the college can serve the society more effectively and meaningfully.

CAREER COUNSELLING

The college has set up a Career Counseling Cell sponsored by UGC to provide various information regarding employment opportunities as well as other professional and academic courses. The students can avail of this facility to choose the nature of education which would help them to shape up their future.

ACADEMIC COUNSELLING

Academic counselling is the part of the weekly class routine. Students in general may take the advantage of academic counseling to overcome their difficulties. Teachers of respective subjects are assigned with counseling duties.

SCHOLARSHIP & STIPEND

The students of backward community can have stipend as per the State Government and UGC rules on the recommendation of the college.

EDUCATIONAL TOURS

Some of the departments of the college arrange educational tour for its students every year. College often makes arrangement of excursion for the students under the supervision of the teachers.

GRIEVANCE REDRESS CELL

Grievance-Redress cell of the college welcomes critical inputs, suggestions, complaints from the students for consideration. Students may drop suggestions, complaints and critical inputs into the Grievance Box. In addition to these a provision is also provided in the College Website.

TUTORIAL & REMEDIAL CLASS

College also provide for tutorial and remedial classes for the students of the backward community and the students who are found weak in their studies. These classes are held as per the schedule prepared after consultation of the various Head of the departments.

COMPUTER FACILITY

College has introduced computer facilities including internet for the students in general so that they can be at least get a scope to be acquainted with computers which has become a must in today’s world. College is likely to introduce intranet facilities to know their activities in the college by a single click of mouse. The College has also a UGC-NRC facility for the benefit of the students.

NETAJI SUBHASH OPEN UNIVERSITY STUDY CENTRE

The principle objective of NSOU is to provide higher education for large segment of population including those who are in employment, women including house wives, people who are unable to go through regular course of education and adults who wish to upgrade their knowledge to translate the idea of the State Government in dissemination of knowledge among all sections of the populace and empowerment of the disadvantaged.

Therefore in pursuance to the objective the NSOU set up a STUDY CENTRE in the college in July 2003. Manbhum Mahavidyalaya Study Centre has already received over whelming response from the students for Post Graduate Course, Bachelors' Degree Programme (equivalent to Honours Degree) and Bachelors' Preparatory Programme (Bridge Course), BLIS.

The Study Centre being a part of the college is giving its full effort to serve the community. The Study center generally remains open on Saturday from 2 P.M. and on Sunday from 11 A.M. except Holidays. The contact phone no. (03253) 255759.
