A UG Govt.-aided Affiliated College recognized u/s 2(f) and 12(B) of The UGC Act, 1956 Manbhum Mahavidyalaya is one of the pioneer educational institutes in the southern part of the Purulia district of West Bengal, which is 53 K.M. from Purulia, the district Head Quarter, 330 K.M. from state capital Kolkata (erstwhile Calcutta) to inculcate value-based and principled education among the young population of a vast stretch of area. Nurturing students by a bunch of experienced, knowledge packed and energetic teachers is the strongest and the most valuable resource of Manbhum Mahavidyalaya. Manbhum Mahavidyalaya stated its journey in a definite direction on 22.07.1986, with subjects, viz. Commerce, English, History, Bengali, and Political Science. Within a short spell of time, huge student pressure as well as demand for opening of newer subjects forced the then authority to expand the academic periphery of the college.
